OPICO has appointed Chelmsford-based machinery dealer Writtle Farm Machinery Ltd to distribute the range of HE-VA cultivation products throughout Essex. The HE-VA range includes Rolls and King Rollers, Subsoilers, Front Presses, Combi-lift subsoiler units, Disc rollers and Triple-Tiller tined cultivators.

OPICO’s regional territory manager David Day adds: “Writtle Farm Machinery may be a relatively new business, but its owner-director Andrew Towns already has some very good industry contacts. Within the first week of taking on the franchise, Andrew had sold a set of HE-VA King Rollers, so new business was soon rolling!”

Writtle Farm Machinery’s Andrew Towns explains: “The business strategy is to be dealing with quality machinery and only focusing on a few franchises so that comprehensive cover and technical back-up can be provided to customers. Over the years I’ve seen a lot of HE-VA machinery on-farm and noticed its good quality. So the equipment fits very well into my business model.”

The HE-VA King Rollers are available in working widths from 12.3m to 18.3m, the latter being the widest on the market. Also expected to be popular amongst Essex farmers is the Subsoilers and the combination of the He-va Combi-lift and  Disc Roller – this enables the lower soil structure to be loosened whilst cultivating and incorporating surface residues, all in the same pass. With a seeder added, the set-up is ideal for Till-seeding systems.
